Simply dial the toll free number 1(800) 643-6108 and select the TeleMedicine prompt, a Patient Care Coordinator will route your call to a Licensed Registered Nurse who will assist you with your questions, ask you about your current symptoms, take your medical history if it is not already on file, and arrange to get a Nurse on the phone. As soon as a nurse is available in your state (generally within an hour), the nurse will arrange a three-way call with you and the nurse.
What are the qualifications of TeleMedicine nurses
and doctors?
Only board certified licensed nurses and physicians may join the TeleMedicine Direct Network. TeleMedicine Direct conducts a thorough background check on each doctor and monitors state medical boards to make sure our physicians remain in good standing. TeleMedicine Direct physicians are U.S. based and are licensed to practice medicine in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and Washington D.C.
What are the typical conditions treated
by TeleMedicine Advantage Nurses and Doctors?
Typical conditions our doctors treat include allergies, urinary tract infections, cold, flu, sinus and respiratory infections, as well as many other non-emergency illnesses.
Is my medical information kept confidential?
In addition to your well being, the confidentiality of your medical information is a top priority at TeleMedicine Direct. Your information is maintained in FileMD, the TeleMedicine Direct electronic medical record system, and is encrypted on our secure servers. FileMD procedures comply with HIPAA, the Federal Law that protects your personal health information.
Are the calls recorded?
Yes, your calls are recorded and stored confidentially in FileMD, along with your medical information.
What if I have a pre-existing condition, am I still able to use
TeleMedicine Advantage?
Yes, there are no restrictions. Anyone who is a member is eligible to use the service.
Is there a minimum age requirement?
No, however, an adult/guardian must be present in order for a TeleMedicine Directdoctor to treat an underage dependant.
